Our daughters have been attending Little Lambs for 2 years and it has been a great experience for them, they have thrived in the Montessori style of learning. We appreciate the small class sizes, the low staff to child ratio and feel that the staff is attentive the needs of the children. The staff has been very accommodating with dietary restrictions, they are supportive of breastfeeding moms and accommodating to feeding schedules for infants. Our girls love going to preschool and we know they will be very well prepared for kindergarten!
WELCOME TO
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Little Lambs. My husband and I are protective parents, and we feel so comfortable leaving our two daughters at this incredible school. We have watched each of them flourish with the special care and attention they they receive. They are both performing so well, and we know it is because of the care they get at Little Lambs (we’re certainly not teaching them these things at home!). Mark, Lisa, and the staff are truly A Plus.
We’ve been taking our son to Little Lambs since he was fresh off maternity leave (~3 months) and he is now nearly three. The staff is fairly progressive with the Montessori learning style and we can attest they promote rich sensory-based learning. The teacher-to-child ratio is balanced carefully for each of the four age groups and they are very transparent about which teachers are currently working in which rooms, and on staff in general. They place student skill above age; if your child is ready to move up to a more senior group, they will work to make it happen. The teachers also have excellent communication via email and text message regarding child needs or emergencies. Most importantly, our son loves going to school and is able to come home and discuss his friends, teachers, and daily shenanigans at dinner. He is emphatically independent, loving, sharp, and has a surprising amount of manners for a preschooler. All of these qualities we give Little Lambs a healthy amount of credit for.
We are so grateful we are able to send our kiddo here. We are very lucky to live nearby and I’ve been able to go everyday to breastfeed my child over my lunch break. A delightful but unintended consequence of this is that I get to spend time each day in his classroom interacting with his teachers, and I witness firsthand how much they care about each one. Lunch and bottle time is busy, but they are total pros with each kid. It’s a super supportive environment for both parents and babies. The kids have great open floor space to move and learn. The teachers meet each kid at their developmental level, and clearly care deeply about each one. The entire staff really makes an effort. They’ve been great with baby led weaning and accommodate all feeding needs easily. It’s not easy to get into, so I would call as soon as you learn you are pregnant, but if you can get a spot it’s absolutely a great environment!
Infant
2 weeks - 12 months
The classroom is prepared so infants feel safe to explore, build strength, and express their environment. Teachers guide each infant in order to help to practice and master each step of growth.
Mover
1 years - 2 years
All of the young child’s developmental needs are met with warmth and care by expert staff, such as their desire to walk and talk, eat and drink independently, and understand the world around them.
Toddler
2 years - 3 years
The Toddler program helps young children maximize the gains they make in terms of communication, independence, physical movement, problem-solving ability, and social interactions.
Preschool
3 years - School Age
Children direct their own activities, building knowledge, confidence, and social skills along the way. Teachers empower children to use all the materials available to them, which range from practical life activities to geography to mathematics.
“Any child who is self-sufficient, who can tie his shoes, dress or undress himself, reflects in his joy and sense of achievement the image of human dignity, which is derived from a sense of independence.”
